Sharing Stories.
Transforming Lives.
Together, As One.

Ngarra is a not-for-profit project that empowers the youth from the world’s most remote and marginalized communities by utilizing the power of photography to share their stories and create meaningful, lasting change in their lives. By providing cameras, education, and support, we enable these young artists to capture their unique perspectives, find their voice, and share their stories through the transformative medium of photography and film that transcends boundaries, languages, and connects us all.

Ngarra creates spaces where young people reclaim their voice, share their story their way, celebrate their identity, and shape their future. Their photos, their films, their art invite us to look closer, listen deeper, connect with the world in new ways and remember what is means to stand together as one. Their unique stories are shared in gallery exhibitions, art installations, and events across the globe, with 100% of the profits raised from the sale of their work being directly invested into their community, creating better opportunities and brighter futures for everyone.

When young people are given the tools to see their world differently, they begin to see themselves differently too.
Confidence grows. Pride is rekindled. Dreams once hidden begin to breathe. They remember that their voice matters, that their story has power, and that they are not alone. In sharing their truth, they become agents of change in their own lives and for their communities – walking forward with stronger hearts, clearer eyes, and the knowledge that their way of seeing can help heal this world.

‘Ngarra’ means ‘Together As One’.

It is more than a word.
It is a living practice, a shared promise of connection, cultural strength, and collective responsibility to each other.
It is an invitation to join a movement of togetherness, of cultural preservation, empowerment, community, family, and of global change.

it is together, as one, that we can make a difference.
one story, one frame, one dream at a time.

how does it work?

from their lens to the world. stories that inspire, voices that empower, change that lasts.

Our Projects follow a simple yet impactful approach – hand a camera to a child and watch the world start to shift. It’s more than taking pictures. It is about creating space for young people to show what their world looks like through their eyes, giving them the tools and support to tell their story, their way, through their own lens.

We provide cameras and workshops that immerse young people (usually between 6 and 16) in the art of photography, film and storytelling. What they create is raw, vibrant, unfiltered – a reflection of their lives and the land that shapes them. The photographs, films, and art are then showcased in Exhibitions held in galleries and events around the world, with 100% of the profits from the sale of their work directly reinvested back into their community, creating lasting change for them, their family, their community, and their people.

Imagine you’re a child in a small village. You’ve just helped bring clean water to your family, solar panels to your neighbours, medicine to an elder, built a school for you and your friends. It was your story, your way of seeing the world, that made it happen. What would that awaken inside you? What kind of fire would that light? It’s not just about what they receive, its about what they realise –
that their voice matters, their perspective is powerful, and their creativity can transform the world around them.

On the other side of each photograph there is another transformation in the hearts and minds of those who see these images, who invest in them, who hang them in their homes, and become part of their story. They too are reminded of what is possible when we give, when we share, when we stand together, and we all benefit.

Ngarra is more than an art project. It is more than photos or films. It’s a movement fuelled by creativity, reciprocity, and the kind of storytelling that changes lives on both sides of the lens.

stories have power

we can change the world with story, one frame at a time.

When you place a camera in the hands of a young person and give them the space to tell their story, it changes everything. For them, it’s more than taking photos. It allows them to be seen, to be heard, to be respected in a world that often overlooks them, or makes them feel like they do not matter.  Each image they create is a reflection of who they are and what they carry. A rich heritage, story, and contribution to the world who wants to, and needs to hear it. It’s a moment where they stand in their own power and show the world their way of seeing – and the impact is life changing.
Confidence grows. Pride awakens. Voice are reclaimed. Cycles are broken. Connection deepens. Hope returns.
They start to see themselves differently – not just as kids from a small village or remote community but as artists, storytellers, and change-makers. Seeing their work printed, framed, and hung on gallery walls in cities around the world is more than an achievement; it’s proof that their voice matters, that their story has value, and that they have something important to give to the world.

The change doesn’t stop with them. When people stand before their images, something shifts. They are invited into another world. To see through the eyes of a child, to be in relation to that community, to feel the strength, the beauty, the resilience that is captured in each frame. It stirs empathy. It dissolves distance. It reminds us that we are connected, that we belong to each other, and that we all share a responsibility to care.

This is the power of this project. It transforms lives on both sides of the lens. It builds bridges, opens hearts, and lays the foundation for a future rooted in respect, culture, connection and hope. Because at the end of the day, these aren’t just photos – they’re sparks of change, reminders that we are all one people, around one fire, together as one.

Reclaiming Stories, Restoring Balance

empowering voices, connecting communities, & giving back to the future.

Our Why is simple. We do this because the future depends on it. Sharing stories is more than about telling, it’s about giving. Giving hope, giving voice, and giving back to the land, the people, and the generations to come. Everyone deserves the chance to share their story, not only because it’s their right, but because the world is incomplete without it. These stories are the threads that braid us together, the lifeblood of connection, that hold everything in relation. They remind us who we are, showing us the beauty of our shared humanity and the need to live in harmony with the land and each other.

When a young person picks up a camera and captures their world, they’re not just making art; they’re reclaiming their place, their voice, their truth. When that truth is shared – printed, exhibited, celebrated – it has a way of taking root. It grows empathy, understanding, and action in the hearts of those who see it. That’s the kind of change that lasts – the kind that ripples out, touching lives, strengthening communities, and reminding the world what’s possible when we listen, connect, give back and work together.

Our mission never was and never will be driven by profit, but by purpose. We are a not-for-profit project because it is a reflection of the lore, the stories, the communities, the people and the land that guide us. Our purpose goes beyond the bottom line and is rooted in the belief that every story matters, that every community deserves the opportunity to thrive, that every person, especially its smallest ones, have the power to make the biggest difference.

learn more about us

From a single frame to clean water, solar power, education, & hope.

What started with a single frame captured by a child and a purpose ignited by an elder around a campfire has grown into a global movement of connection, preservation, and change. Ngarra is more than a project – it’s a living story, a testament to the power of togetherness, reciprocity, and the enduring resilience of the human spirit.

Through the eyes of children, we see the raw beauty and resilience of lives often overlooked. These stories travel far, crossing borders and languages, planting seeds of empathy and understanding in the hearts of those who witness them. The profits generated by these stories circle back, empowering communities with resources, education, and opportunity.

Every frame is a call to action, every image an invitation to see the world differently, every story a flame igniting a fire of connection and change.
Together we are laying the foundations for the future we all long for.
A future where every story is heard, where every life is valued, and where we remember that the fire we sit around belongs to all of us.

Empowering Youth THrough the art of storyTelLing

our story, our mission, our why for being.

We imagine a world where creativity and art is honoured not as a privilege, but as a part of who we are, as it always has been.
A world where cultures intertwine like the roots of an ancient tree, strengthening and sustaining one another, as it always has been.
A world where every individual is empowered to share the story only they can tell, as it should be.

Our work is born from a sacred responsibility — to uphold the stories, lineages, and lifeways of communities too often pushed to the margins, and to honour the cultural memory that still beats strong beneath silence. Through our projects and initiatives, we strive to amplify the voices that have been silenced or are too soft to be heard, to fan the flames of creativity that burn within us all, and use it to build bridges of understanding across the distances that separate us.

This is more than a mission – it is a calling, guided by our elders, the land, and spirit, with the deep understanding that every life, every person, every story matters.
This is more than art – it’s a reclamation of narrative sovereignty, a revival of the stories that connect us to the land, to each other, and to ourselves.
This is more than us – it’s bigger than any one voice, vision, or story, a movement held not by individuals, but by community, by ancestors, by spirit.

Together, we are caretakers of something far greater – something that belongs to all of us.

ThANkyOU

together as one we can make a difference.
