Ngarra is more than just handing over a camera – it’s about handing back the story. Through the art of photography and storytelling, we work with young people in communities to help them see their world, and themselves, in a new light. Cameras become tools, not just for capturing images, but for reclaiming identity, expressing voice, and creating connection.
It’s more than teaching kids to take photos; it’s about creating a space where they can share their truth. Where the way they see their world becomes part of a bigger story – one that builds confidence, strengthens community ties, preserves culture and language, and opens up paths to sustainable empowerment.
This process is more technical; it’s relational. It’s about fostering respect for the stories these kids and their communities carry. It’s about giving their perspectives the space to be seen, recognized, and celebrated, so they can stand strong in their identities and carry their traditions forward.
