NGARRA’s Uganda Village project is a community-based initiative aimed at empowering youth in a remote village in Uganda through the transformative power of photography and storytelling.
Around the fire has always been the place where we come together, where stories are shared, lessons are learned, and connections are made. The One Fire Podcast is no different – it’s a space to sit, listen, and lean into the stories that remind us of who we are and the threads that bind us to each other, the land, and everything around us.
Every episode is like adding another log to the fire. The sparks fly as we bring in voices from across the world: elders, knowledge holders, artists, young changemakers, and storytellers. These aren’t just interviews; they’re conversations – deep yarns about what it means to be human, to be in relation, and to find our way back to the patterns that hold everything together.
We talk about the big things: how to live in harmony with the land, how to preserve culture while moving through a changing world, how storytelling can heal, inspire, and teach. But we also talk about the small, everyday things – the gestures, the daily practices, the ways of being that ripple outward and make a difference.
This isn’t a podcast that feeds you facts or answers; it’s one that invites you into relation. To listen deeply. To feel the rhythm in the words and the spaces in between. These stories are more than content – they’re living things, passed on in the hope that they’ll take root in you and spark something new.
Each episode is a thread in a larger weave. Sometimes we sit with elders, hearing stories etched in the land and sky, the ones that hold warnings and wisdom. Other times, we’re with young artists, whose creative fire is lighting up their communities and reshaping how the world sees them. We sit and talk with CEOs of some of the worlds most incredible nonprofit projects making a difference working for a brighter tomorrow; and we share a cup of tea with a grandmother out on country who has experienced more in her lifetime than we could possibly imagine.
One Fire isn’t just about storytelling – it’s about what happens when those stories are shared. It’s about creating a space where we can all gather, wherever we are, and feel part of something bigger. The fire doesn’t belong to one person; it belongs to everyone who sits around it.
